1. General Information
Use of any Balloon Aloft Gold Coast service implies acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
All bookings, vouchers, and certificates are governed by these terms and by the operator’s Air Operators Certificate SQ532306 (Civil Aviation Safety Authority Australia).

2. Definitions
Key terms such as Service, Service Operator, Individual Passenger Booking, and Group Passenger Booking are defined as in the original document.

3. Liability
Balloon Aloft Gold Coast is not liable for direct, indirect, consequential, or incidental damages (including property loss, profit loss, or disappointment).
Flights may be operated by subcontracted ballooning companies under code-sharing arrangements; Balloon Aloft accepts no liability for those services.

4. Prices & Payments

  • Prices in AUD and include 10 % GST.

  • Payment methods: cash, cheque, bank transfer, or major credit cards (AMEX + 4 % surcharge).

  • Prices and itineraries may change without notice.

5. Bookings

  • 50 % deposit required ≥ 14 days before flight.

  • Full payment due ≥ 7 days before flight.

  • Passenger names, weights, and mobile contact required.

6. Weather & Safety
Flights depend on suitable weather, equipment, and staff availability.
If unsafe, flights may be postponed or cancelled up to launch time.
If cancelled, payment remains in credit and alternate dates offered.
Balloon Aloft accepts no liability for additional travel or accommodation costs.

7. Passenger Responsibilities
Passengers must:

  • Arrive on time at the meeting point.

  • Follow crew instructions.

  • Refrain from alcohol or impairing medication.

  • Declare relevant medical conditions.

  • Sign the pre-flight “Notification of Risk Form”.

8. Eligibility

  • Age: Children 3 – 14 yrs with adult only; infants not permitted.

  • Mobility: Passengers must stand unaided for ~ 1 hour.

  • Pregnancy: Not permitted beyond 12 weeks.

  • Scuba diving: Not within 24 hrs prior to flight.

9. Program Details
Allow 4–4.5 hours for full ballooning experience (inflation → breakfast).
Operates daily at sunrise, weather permitting.
Minimum passenger numbers apply.

10. Group Bookings
Applies to 4 + passengers on same flight.
Group discounts only via direct payment to Balloon Aloft.
Separate terms apply for custom launch sites and large events.

11. Gift Vouchers

  • Valid 12 months (unless otherwise stated).

  • Transferable but non-refundable.

  • Must be booked and flown before expiry.

  • Extensions may incur $15–$30 admin fees.

  • Lost or expired vouchers cannot be replaced.

  • Third-party voucher purchases are also bound by that vendor’s conditions.

12. Legal Jurisdiction
All transactions are governed by Queensland law (Australia).
Balloon Aloft Gold Coast may amend these terms at any time; continued use constitutes acceptance.

Refund Policy

1. Non-Refundable Tickets
Flights booked as Non-Refundable cannot be refunded under any circumstances.

2. Refundable Tickets
Refundable only if Balloon Aloft cancels due to weather, safety, or operational issues.
Not refundable for passenger change of mind or missed departure.

3. Individual Bookings (1 – 3 Passengers)

  • Cancellation ≤ 72 hrs before flight → 100 % fare forfeited.

  • Alterations ≤ 72 hrs → at Balloon Aloft discretion (+ $100 pp typical fee).

  • Re-book outside 7 days → $25 pp fee.

  • Cancellation > 7 days (refundable tickets only) → $50 pp fee.

  • “Non-refundable” tickets → no refunds.

  • Missed flights → 100 % fare forfeited (no refund / re-book).

4. Group Bookings (4 + Passengers)

  • Cancellation ≤ 7 days → 100 % fare forfeited.

  • Alterations ≤ 7 days → at Balloon Aloft discretion.

  • Re-book > 72 hrs → $25 pp fee.

  • Cancellation > 72 hrs (refundable tickets only) → $50 pp fee.

  • Missed flights → 100 % fare forfeited.

5. Weather Cancellations by Balloon Aloft
If your flight is cancelled due to weather or safety:

  • Your booking converts to an “open-dated” credit valid 3 months.

  • Re-booking must occur within 12 months of the first cancelled date.

  • Refunds (if eligible) may attract $25 admin fee.

6. Gift Certificates & Third-Party Bookings
Gift certificates and third-party vouchers are non-refundable.
Extensions only by discretion and subject to admin fees.

7. Refund Method
Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 10 business days of approval.
